Located at the School campus, 2 Torrington St, Canterbury, just 9 kilometres from Melbourne\u2019s CBD. The Centre provides a welcoming environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n

Our programs are designed to support swimmers at every stage of their aquatic journey \u2014 from learning fundamental water safety skills through to advanced squad training and competitive swimming.<\/p>\n

With expert coaching delivered by AUSTSWIM accredited instructors, modern facilities and a strong focus on education and development, CGGS Aquatic Centre aims to build confident, capable swimmers while fostering a lifelong enjoyment of aquatic activity.<\/p>\n

LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text css=””]The CGGS Learn to Swim program provides a structured, progressive pathway from infant water familiarisation and safety skills, through to strong, independent swimming across all strokes. The focus is on water safety, confidence, correct technique and enjoyment, with progression based on skill development. Each level builds essential foundations that prepare swimmers for a smooth transition into the Squad program. Classes are taught by AUSTSWIM qualified instructors who focus their lesson plans on the individual needs of swimmers.<\/p>\n

In addition to our core Learn to Swim curriculum classes, CGGS Swim School also offers a limited number of Additional Swimming Classes designed to support swimmers whose needs sit outside the regular curriculum. These classes provide children and teenagers a flexible, supportive environment for participants who are new to swimming, returning after time away, or seeking to build confidence and foundational skills without joining age-based programs. Start learning the basic skills of independent swimming. Swimmers learn how to move through the water on their front and back, be comfortable in the water and under water, basic breath control, floating skills, and water safety.<\/h6>\n

Swimmers are introduced to basic freestyle and backstroke arm movements. This level focuses on starting to swim independently, with a strong kick, basic breath work, as well as a focus on safety skills.<\/h6>\n

Introduction of freestyle and backstroke timing, as swimmers start to learn bi-lateral breathing. Swimmers are introduced to inverted breaststroke and dolphin kick, and distance is increased to 7.5m.<\/h6>\n

Swimmers extend in distance to 12.5m, while strengthening freestyle and backstroke technique. Breaststroke is introduced, and swimmers begin to show greater control, coordination, and confidence.<\/h6>\n
